Health fair and AGM

Local people, Trust members and NHS staff will have chance to find out more about their hospitals on Thursday, October 7.

The Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is opening its doors at the Calderdale Royal Hospital, as part of its annual Health Fair and joint Trust Board and Membership Council Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The evening starts with a Health Fair at 5 pm in the Ingleton Falls Restaurant. Guests will be able to visit a number of interactive displays and food tasting, and there will be an opportunity to take a tour of the X-ray department, pharmacy dispensing unit, or try out resuscitation techniques on training models in our clinical skills laboratory.

This will be followed by the formal joint Trust Board of Directors and Membership Council AGM at 7 pm in the lecture theatre.

The Trust’s Chairman, Sukhdev Sharma said: “We welcome anyone with an interest in our hospitals to join us at what promises to be an interesting event.

“Our Health Fair and tours are a great opportunity for people to meet our staff, learn more about what we do and take a behind the scenes tour of some of our departments.

“The AGM is an opportunity to hear about our financial performance, achievements, and future plans.”

The results of the Membership Council elections, which took place over the summer, will be announced at the meeting.

There will also be an opportunity for anyone who has not yet joined the Trust as a Foundation Trust member to sign up as a member on the day if they wish to.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Due to limited space, tickets will be required.
