NHS National Staff Survey

NHS England’s annual survey of NHS organisations is now available for 2013.  The 2013 survey was carried out from mid-September to early December and covered all occupational groups covering almost 416,000 NHS employees in 265 NHS organisations.

Key findings from the national survey show that 65% of NHS staff said that if a friend or relative needed treatment they would be happy with the standard of care provided by their organisation.  Our Trust scored higher at 75%.  The majority of our staff were satisfied with their job and were motivated at work.  Our staff engagement score was higher than the national average.

The trust’s director of workforce and organisational development, Julie Hull, said “whilst our results show us above average in many areas we still have some work to do to improve our scores in others.  We will ensure that our staff are well supported at work and encourage their ideas to enable the trust to continuously improve."
