Return To Practice nurse (RTP)

If you’re thinking of coming back to nursing you are looking in the right place!

Nurses leave the profession for a variety of reasons; some have children or start a new career.  Many want to return but don’t know where to start.

You may need to undertake a return to practice programme if you've previously been a registered nurse and wish to return to the profession.  The course is funded by Health Education England.

Here at CHFT we will support you on your journey back, and we are currently recruiting adult nurses wishing to return to delivering compassionate care to our patients.  This is an exciting opportunity in which you will be offered employment whilst you undertake the course.

We currently have positions in a variety of clinical areas and you will be supported by your ward/department team as well as the clinical education team to attend University teaching.

The practice placement requirement of your Return to Practice course will be based on your employing ward.

Throughout your Return to Practice training you will be employed in a substantive Band 3 post which will progress to a Band 5 position on successful completion of the course and re-registration to the NMC.
