VIPs visit new Rainbow Community Hub

Sunny, Star and Thunder were the VIP guests on their first site viewing at the new Rainbow Community Hub which is due to open this Autumn.

The puppets are the face of our brand-new facility for children and young people in the Clock House building, on Huddersfield Road, Elland. The two-storey unit will have an outdoor play area, outpatient and therapy rooms downstairs and office space above.

This will provide a community hub for local families, and they will be supported by specialist outpatient and community teams.

It replaces the existing unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital which is being relocated as part of the reconfiguration plans at the CRH site. Its location was selected for ease of access and being mid-way between Halifax and Huddersfield, as our teams care for families and children from both our local communities.

Internal building work has started, and the final designs will be based on feedback from our families and colleagues. And the Children and Young People’s Services Directorate are really looking forward to opening the new hub.
