Performance in Initiating and Delivering (PID) Clinical Research

National Targets for Research

The Trusts clinical trial performance is measured against 2 national benchmarks to improve the initiation and delivery of all clinical trials approved by the Trust.  From April 2014 the Trust will aim to meet these benchmarks:

Initiation – it should take no more than 70 days from receipt of a research study application by the R&D Department to the recruitment of (i.e. consent) the 1st patient into a trial

Delivery – for all commercial clinical trials hosted by the Trust the agreed number of patients must be recruited within the agreed recruitment period

The Trust is now obliged to submit quarterly performance reports to the Department of Health setting out our performance against these benchmarks. Performance of Initiating (1st January 2016-31st December 2016)

Quarter 4 2016/17:

Performance of Initiating (1st April 2016-31st March 2017)

Nil Return for Performance in Delivering (1st April 2016-31st March 2017)

Quarter 1 2017/18:

Performance of Initiating (1st July 2016-30th June 2017)

Nil Return for Performance in Delivering (1st July 2016-30th June 2017)

Quarter 2 2017/18:

Performance of Initiating (1st October 2016-30th September 2017)

Performance in Delivering (1st October 2016-30th September 2017)
