Why have you introduced a patient portal?
We have introduced a Patient Portal as it allows us to:
- improve how we communicate with our patients by offering more options
- deliver letters to patients faster by sending them digitally
- reduce confusion from lost letters or letters arriving in the wrong order
- save the NHS money by reducing the amount of paper and postage costs
- reduce our environmental impact
- provide a text reminder to patients before their appointments
- provide the ability for patients to request to change or cancel their appointment without having to ring us
Having a patient portal allows patients who wish to and have access to digital options to access us in a digital way.
I don’t have a mobile number or a landline number how can I access the patient portal?
If you are not able to, or have difficulties accessing the patient portal to see your letters and appointment information you will receive an appointment letter in the post.
Is my information secure?
To enable us to deliver this service, DrDoctor will have access to your contact information but not to detailed information about your health.
Both the DrDoctor and Patient Knows Best patient portals are accredited to the highest standards set by the NHS for protecting the healthcare information of UK citizens. Abbreviations you may find in your health records
The NHS Website provides a list of some of the most common medical abbreviations and what they mean. This may be useful if you want to understand your health records. An abbreviation is a short way of writing a longer word or phrase. You can access the webpage here or visit www.nhs.uk/nhs-app.
