The Chaplaincy Centres

The chaplaincy centres offer facilities for prayer or religious observance or simply a quiet space at both hospitals.

The Chaplaincy Centre at Calderdale Royal Hospital, and the Hope Centre at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary are open to people of all faiths and none; all we politely ask is that people show respect to others who might be using the facilities at the same time.

Huddersfield Royal Infirmary

The Hope Centre (Chapel and Prayer Rooms) located in the main entrance of the hospital is a multi-faith space open for anyone to use day or night, offering a quiet space for anyone who needs a place of quiet, reflection or prayer.

There isa chapel area for Christian worship, a small quiet room and a Prayer Room for Muslim prayers. There are male and female Wudu (washing facilities) nearby. Due to restrictions due to COVID19 we are not able to provide prayer mats

Religious material and faith resources (including things to take away and keep) are available on request. Please contact the chaplaincy team if you require such materials as we do not distribute religious materials indiscriminately.

Please Note: due to covid19 restrictions  there are currently no communal gatherings for prayer or worship. This is reviewed periodically in line with CHFT operational policies and infection control.
