5K Your Way – walk, jog, run or cheer at the next parkrun event

Join in this Saturday, 24th February at 8:45am for the sixth meetup in Shroggs Park, Halifax, and Greenhead Park, Huddersfield.

This initiative comes from the Move Charity, which aims to foster a sense of community among those living with and beyond cancer, along with their families, friends, and those working in cancer services. If you or someone you know has been impacted by cancer, you’re invited to join this weekend’s event.

Staying active has proven benefits in helping individuals cope with cancer treatment. Movement during and after a cancer diagnosis can reduce treatment-related fatigue, preserve cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness, alleviate chemotherapy side effects, and even aid in preventing recurrence. Importantly, physical activity contributes to improved psychological and emotional well-being, offering a fun and enjoyable way to connect with others.

Each group is led by at least one volunteer 5K Your Way Ambassador, serving as the group's focal point. Expect a warm and friendly welcome, with the flexibility for participants to engage at their own pace or simply gather for a drink and a chat.
