Cardiac Sister Gemma Webster, right, is our latest CHuFT Star award winner nominated by her colleague for being loved by her patients and an inspiration every day to all on our Cardiology Ward 6c at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
She was nominated by her colleague and ward clerk Julie McAllister, left, who said: “The patients just love her kind, caring persona. She takes time to explain to them their by-pass treatment as many are quite apprehensive. She is always there for every one of her team and listens to their concerns and always resolves this.
“She is open to any suggestion to make the ward a better place for patient experience. Recently, during the hot spell, she ensured that every staff member had ice in drinks, that patents had ice and most importantly, our porters, who work tirelessly running around, had ice cold squash.
She really is one of a kind and I believe is an absolute asset to our Trust. We are very lucky to have her.
