In-patient Rehabilitation

Service Summary

The rehabilitation unit provides a service for medically stable patients who need support to enable them to return to the level of mobility they had before they came into hospital. The unit offers suitable patients access to nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Patients work with staff to meet mutually agreed rehabilitation goals.

Where to find us

The Rehabilitation Unit is situated on the second floor at Calderdale Royal Hospital, on entering the main entrance to the hospital use lift one and turn left as you leave the lift.

Meet the team

The team is made up of nursing, therapy staff, a social worker and consultant. They work together closely to assist patients meet their rehabilitation goals. The team meets weekly to review each patient and discuss their assessments with patients to plan for a timely discharge from hospital. In addition to this the consultant conducts ward rounds each week to review any medical issues.

Visiting times

Daily

2.00 – 4.00 pm

6.30 – 8.00 pm

The ward observes protected meal times, to ensure patients nutritional needs are met. Arrangements can be made for carers to support and assist their relatives with nutritional needs. Visiting outside of the above times is at the discretion of the nurse in charge.
