Urology

The Urology department within Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust provides comprehensive services for a full spectrum of urological problems. Services are mostly based at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary (HRI) with only a few specific services at Calderdale Royal Hospital (CRH).

Inpatient services are offered at HRI. Our vision for the unit is to offer the best care and treatment possible for all patients in a timely and caring manner.

Outpatient services are offered at both our district general hospitals (HRI and CRH) including prostate assessment clinics, haematuria clinics, lithotripsy, erectile dysfunction (based at CRH) and urodynamic clinics.

The unit is staffed by nurses trained in urology and is supported by a full multidisciplinary team including medical oncology, palliative care and stoma care.

Meet the team

The urology team consists of five urologists with supporting medical teams, a team of urology specialist nurses and a full range of support services.

The urology consultants offer a full range of treatments and have each developed sub specialisation to offer the best care possible. Our urology cancer services are compliant with all aspects of the NICE Improving Outcomes Guidance for urological cancer. We work closely with our specialist centre at Bradford to provide seamless care pathways. Other areas of specialisation include laproscopic urology, treatment of stones, urinary incontinence, female urology and urological support to the IVF clinics.
