The main entrance at Calderdale Royal Hospital (CRH) will be temporarily closed from Monday, 10th August, until early October.
If you are coming to CRH, from Monday, 10th August, you will need to use the Hospital Service Entrance on Dudwell Lane, the Women and Children’s entrance, or the hospital entrance from the A&E car park.
These entrances give you access to all wards and departments in the hospital which is open as usual.
Drop offs, pick ups, and taxis must use the Hospital Service Entrance on Dudwell Lane. You can still drop off at the main entrance if you are coming to the Birth Centre.
Please follow the signs on site which will explain where to go.
You can still use our café, restaurant, shops and other facilities by following the signs to the main entrance from within the hospital.
You can also still use the bike shelters located outside the main entrance.
Alternative entrances to Calderdale Royal Hospital are:
- The Hospital Service Entrance off Dudwell Lane – for all drop off and pick ups, and access to all wards and departments. This is the nearest entrance from bus stops on Salterhebble Hill.
- The hospital entrance accessed from the A&E Car Park off Godfrey Road - the nearest entrance for CCU, Radiology and Macmillan
- The Women and Children’s entrance which is off Godfrey Road - the nearest entrance to Outpatients and Maternity
If you need additional assistance:
All our hospital entrances are accessible for wheelchair users. Wheelchairs will be available at all entrances, please return them to the entrance after use.
If you need any extra help or support to get to the ward or department you are visiting, please speak to the department whose care you are under.
About the work
The temporary closure of the main entrance is so that we can widen the entrance way and install vehicle security bollards. It will make it easier for people to get in and out of the hospital entrance once the new multi-storey car park opens in early Autumn.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this essential work.
