CHFT Charity has received an incredibly kind donation of £10,000 towards the Maternity Bereavement Appeal from My Place Yorkshire, pushing the fundraising target ever closer.

Our Charity team invited Lisa, Abbie, and My Place residents Sowda, Gebrela and Samira to visit the current maternity bereavement facilities and hear more about plans for the new bereavement suite.

During the visit, Assistant Director of Nursing, Gemma Puckett, and Consultant Midwife, Michelle Jones, spoke about the current limitations of the existing space, including the lack of natural light and limited family facilities. They also shared how charitable support will help transform the environment into a more peaceful, comforting and dignified space for families experiencing baby loss.

The new bereavement suite will provide families with privacy, comfort and precious time together during some of the most difficult moments imaginable.

This generous donation from My Place will help bring the project one step closer to reality, supporting the creation of a dedicated space where families can make memories and receive compassionate care and support.
