ISS Site Services Supervisor, Helen Allen, has been shortlisted for an Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) Award. The annual event recognises excellence in workplace and facilities management. Helen has been shortlisted in the Everyday Excellence category.
Helen was nominated by ISS Site Services Manager, Michaela Holloway. Part of her nomination reads:
"Helen is always on hand to provide a listening ear and sound advice. In January 2024, Helen completed the Mental Health First Aid course and has used that skill to provide comfort and information for colleagues.
"Helen is also heavily involved with Project Search, an area close to her heart. She uses her caring nature to guide and make the people assigned to our service feel valued and at ease with the tasks they are performing. One person in particular stands out, Josh, who came to us from Project Search as a stores porter. Helen quickly realised Josh’s potential and on her advice, he was given a full time contract with ISS, he even invited her to his graduation last year.
"Helen performs all duties within site services, she porters if they are busy, works on switchboard if they are short, drives the van when needed, and assists with security incidents if required. She has completed food hygiene courses and can be seen serving meals in the restaurant or tugging out linen trolleys to help out. Helen is a doer, never one to sit at a desk, she is out there every day - seeing what is going on, solving issues before they become a problem or dealing with them if they are.”
Good luck to Helen who will find out if she’s won on Thursday, 9th October.
