Last week, BBC Look North followed the story of one of our patients, James, who has been diagnosed with male breast cancer. James is documenting his cancer journey on social media to help raise awareness of breast cancer in men. The piece was broadcast in the evening bulletin on Tuesday, 14th April, and also featured our Macmillan Nurse Consultant in Breast Care, Joyce Graham.

Last year at CHFT we diagnosed five men with breast cancer, compared with more than 700 women. Nationally around 400 men are diagnosed each year.

Speaking on BBC Look North, Joyce said: "We certainly do welcome James sharing his journey. Anything that promotes better health and awareness of breast cancer and cancers in general is always a good thing."

If you missed it, you can watch the clip from BBC Look North on YouTube.

Thank you to Joyce and the team for supporting this filming.
