Our maternity team celebrate their latest CQC report
Baby Marcus Briggs - just four hours old

A huge well done to our maternity teams for a brilliant CQC Maternity Survey from the people who matter most…. our mums!

The survey report covers all aspects of care from ante-natal, post-natal through to discharge and beyond and improvements have been noted since the previous survey a year ago thanks to a huge amount of hard work from our teams.

They scored especially well in how they answered mums’ questions ahead of their labour and birth, providing the best advice in advance where a mum needed inducing and making sure discharges went to plan and on time. The report also singled out the individual care provided with our teams who make sure all personal circumstances of every family  are taking into account.

Director of Midwifery and Women’s services,  Diane Tinker, said: “We are always striving as a team to provide the very best for our mums and families and this survey based on their experiences shows we are on track demonstrating professionalism and expertise alongside a very compassionate approach we are very proud of. We continue to work with our Maternity Voice Partnership to ensure we build on this going forward to strengthen all areas of care we provide.”

And here's baby Marcus Briggs (below) who was just four hours old when this photo was taken. Dad, Sam, said: “It’s been fantastic, I can’t fault it. Everyone’s been absolutely brilliant from the midwife to the student. They’ve been so patient, so caring.”
