More than 70 people attend the latest Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Failure Support Group

Published on:

The second meeting of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Failure Support Group proved to be another successful night. The session was far more successful than originally anticipated, with more than 70 people attending. Our Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Failure Team stepped up though, working seamlessly through the evening to ensure the success of the event.

The session was held at Heath Rugby Club in Halifax and the evening started with a presentation on cardiac medications delivered by Head Cardiac Pharmacist, Ian Harrison, with Cardiologist Consultant, Dr Talal Ezzo, also supporting the evening.

Following the presentation, the guests were encouraged to mingle with refreshments and to attend the information stands available. Most of the guests took this opportunity to discuss with staff, the experts at the stands and their peers, their needs and personal experiences of heart failure and cardiac disease. The information stands available included:

  • Andy's Man Club
  • Healthy Eating
  • Pumping Marvellous
  • Safe Exercise
  • Heartbeat
  • Better Living Team
  • Yorkshire Smokefree Service

Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Failure Team Leader, Clair Jones, said: "I would like to thank all those who attended the session and made it the success it was, but a very special thank you must go out to the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Failure Team for their hard work and dedication in making the evening such an accomplishment."
