Our Respiratory Team are celebrating the successful launch of their new Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) service.

Respiratory Consultant, Dr Basel Sakka, pictured left, said: “This marks an exciting milestone for our team and represents a significant step forward in improving the care of patients with obstructive sleep apnoea.

“We expect to have around 250 patients each year to be on CPAP. Previously they had to go to Leeds or Bradford for the service and had a long waiting time of between nine and 12 months.

“By providing a streamlined pathway for assessment, treatment initiation, education, and follow-up, the service is helping patients access effective therapy more quickly and receive the ongoing support they need to achieve the best possible outcomes.

“Thank you to everyone whose hard work and dedication made this service possible.”
