Applications are open for our Chief Nurse role as Lindsay Rudge announces her retirement

Our Chief Nurse, Lindsay Rudge, is retiring, and applications are open for for a strategic and compassionate leader to join our Board as Chief Nurse. Further information is available on NHS jobs: Job Advert with applications closing on Friday 7 November.

Lindsay said: “I have had the most enormous privilege of being a nurse at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT) for all my professional working life.

“CHFT is an organisation whose culture centres around truly putting patients and its colleagues first. It is a dynamic, diverse and inclusive organisation that strives to meet the needs of its communities and develop those who work within them. There are exciting times ahead as it we progress with building a new hospital at our Calderdale site and developing services at HRI and across our community services.

“I will be extremely sad, and it is with a heavy heart that I have taken the decision to retire having spent my entire NHS career here at CHFT.  I never thought over 30 years ago when I trained to be a nurse in Halifax that I would have the honour of being the Chief Nurse for my local hospitals and to help lead the professions over the years at CHFT, and to be just one small part of our NHS. Being a nurse is simply the best job in the world.

“It’s now time to spend more time with my family and I am going to be a grandparent which I’m excited about and very much looking forward to. I also plan to travel in our motorhome and see more of this big world we live in.”

The Chief Nurse role is being advertised on NHS jobs: Job Advert and closes on Friday 7 November.
