The Care Quality Commission has today <link http: www.cht.nhs.uk about-us why-choose-us cqc external-link-new-window external link in new>published their report into the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust following their inspection in March.

They have given the Trust a good rating for care and responsiveness in both hospitals and requires improvement in the other core areas of effectiveness, well-led and safety. Our community services received a good rating in all the areas.

Overall the rating is one of Requires Improvement – currently the same as all other Trusts in West Yorkshire - and improvement action planning around this commenced from the time of inspection and is already well-underway.

Breaking down the service by service rating more than 70% received a good rating. The CQC inspectors have also highlighted some areas of outstanding practice and given special mention to staff who spoke with pride and passion about working for the Trust. There were no scores of inadequate and no immediate compliance actions.

Chief Executive, Owen Williams, said: “It is good that our patients can be confident that they will receive good care when they need our help. It’s also great that the hard work and dedication of our staff and volunteers has been recognised by the CQC.

Alongside the important work of improvement we will continue to deliver in the areas reported as outstanding and good which make such a difference to the people we serve.”
