Our amazing Wellbeing Garden at HRI has been shortlisted as a finalist at the national Landscape Institute Awards 2026, in the Excellence in Public Health and Wellbeing category.

Opened two years ago, the garden is split into seven zones, providing spaces for socialising and gentle exercise, as well as seclusion and reflection. The designated areas are:

  • Arrival and sensory zone
  • Meeting and social zone
  • Activity group zone
  • Wildlife maze zone
  • Physiotherapy zone
  • Wildflower zone
  • Quiet seating zone

CHS Senior Estates Officer, Jammal Mohammed, said: "Generously funded by our CHFT Charity, the Wellbeing Garden has become a valued space for patients, visitors, colleagues and service users to pause, connect, reflect and restore.

"Its positive impact on wellbeing has been widely embraced and recognised through this shortlisting."
