Here are Paul and Jane Bottomley, making their annual donation to our Macmillan Unit at CRH.

They’ve smashed their target yet again this year, raising more than £2,000 by raffling prizes and hampers, and the team couldn’t be more grateful for their continued support.

The kind-hearted couple from Sowerby started raising funds for the Unit after Jane was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. They were overjoyed to hear late last year that, after 11 years of treatment, Jane has been given the all-clear.

Breast Cancer Care Coordinator, Roz Allen, said: “We’ve been astounded that every year Paul and Jane have raised funds for the unit. In fact, the amount they’ve raised over the years is around £72,000. It’s staggering and goes such a long way to improving the experience for our patients at Macmillan.

“It seems like every year they are given better and better raffle prizes, and it’s snowballed from there. We just can’t thank them enough for all they do each year.”
