Please allow extra time in getting to Calderdale Royal Hospital between Monday 4th August to Friday 5th September 2025. Roadworks are planned on Dudwell Lane and Godfrey Road, you can find more information and a diversion route below.
Dudwell Lane will be closed from Monday, 4th August for approximately two weeks:
- The Dudwell Lane entrance to the hospital will be closed during these dates.
- If you use Renal, Endoscopy, Neurophysiology and the Diabetes Centre which are accessed on Dudwell Lane, you will be able to get into the hospital as usual. Please follow the diversion route for access.
- Please note that there will be no parking available on the road during these dates.
- There will be no pedestrian access from the A629 onto Dudwell Lane during these dates.
Godfrey Road will have temporary traffic lights expected to start on Monday, 18th August, due to finish on Friday, 5th September.
- Temporary traffic lights will be in place 24 hours a day.
- You will still be able to access the hospital using the A&E entrance and the Women’s and Children’s entrance on Godfrey Road throughout these works. Access to these entrances will be from Dudwell Lane only.
- If you drive to the hospital from the top of Godfrey Road at Skircoat Green, please follow the diversion signs.
- Measures will be in place to make sure you can exit the hospital from these car parks safely.
- You will not be able to park on the road during this time, though resident parking will still be available.
- There will be pedestrian access on this road during the work.
Parking
There will still be parking available in our Women’s and Children’s entrance car park, and our A&E car park which can be found on Godfrey Road. There is also on-street parking available on Dryclough Lane.
Public transport
Buses will follow the diversion route throughout the works. Bus routes affected are:
- 561 to Ripponden
- 563 to Brighouse
- 563A to Brighouse
Bus stops will still be in place. Please note that some bus stops may be on the opposite side of the road to usual with temporary pedestrian crossings will be in place.
