Gastroenterology
The gastroenterology service is busy throughout the year dealing with all gastrointestinal and liver conditions. These range from irritable bowel syndrome to more complex problems such as upper and lower gastrointestinal cancers, inflammatory bowel disease and liver disease. The service provides outpatient care, on both the Huddersfield and Halifax sites. All inpatients are at the Huddersfield site. A full range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic investigations are delivered at both sites. The service also provides specialist care for patients with viral Hepatitis, most of who are cared for by a specialist clinical nurse.
