Their aim is to support people who are going through treatment or have finished treatment for breast cancer and are maybe feeling a bit lost. You are welcome to bring along a friend.

Upper Valley Prostate Cancer Support Group (Calderdale)

A new support group for those with a diagnosis of prostate cancer, whether recently diagnosed and wondering what happens next or those further through their cancer journey. The support group is a safe space to share experiences and receive emotional support.

Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the centre of Todmorden. Email info@uvpcsg.org.uk for details.

Calderdale Women’s Cancer Support Living Well Network

Living well is for women from all surrounding areas who have had a cancer diagnosis. Friendly group offering free complementary therapies, activities, and a healthy lunch. Small donation welcomed for lunch.

Last Saturday of the month. Not August and December, 10am – 2pm.

Firm Roots Cancer Prayer Support Group

A group for anyone affected by cancer, family and friends, professionals who work in oncology and anyone who would like to come pray for others. We welcome people from all denominations, as well as people who do not attend church or are unsure about faith, but who would like to receive a prayer and encouragement as they go through cancer.

Come for tea, cake, friendship, and encouragement. Everyone is welcome.

We meet every first Thursday of the month from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

Pontefract Breast Cancer Support Group

Have you been diagnosed with breast cancer in the last three years? Would you like to meet others in a similar position? 

Meet twice a month at The Conservative Club, Market Place, Pontefract. First Thursday of the month at 10am – 12pm for coffee, a chat, and we plan to have speakers from time to time. We also meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm for a drink and a chat.

We Can Survive Singers

Our Singing Group is for Cancer Sufferers, at various stages, to get together, in a safe environment, where trust, support and enjoyment are paramount.

None of us are musically trained, or particularly talented, but TOGETHER, we can produce a harmonious sound, full of joy, which is capable of releasing us, even momentarily from the throes of the Big C! Everyone here understands and relates to your unique Cancer "journey" and it also provides respite from family and associates.

Heads Together

Heads Together is open to patients who have or have had head and neck cancer and their carers. Meetings are very informal, allowing opportunities for peer support. Speakers are arranged as requested by group members on relevant subjects. Trips and events are also organised throughout the year alongside sub-meetings for friendly support. A yearly newsletter is produced by members illustrating personal stories and group activities.

The Prostate Cancer Partners Support Group

The National Prostate Cancer Partner Support Group is currently available for all partners of those living with prostate cancer. The group meets quarterly via zoom and offers space for partners to give and receive support at any stage of their journey. There is opportunity for group support and individual support, all partners are welcome and can attend on an ad hoc basis.

In between the quarterly meetings, they also have speakers including a representative from Penny Brohn UK and they plan to have someone to talk about clinical trials.

The group meets online.

Bottoms Up Colorectal and Urology Support Group

 Support group for people living with prostate bladder and bowel cancer. The group is an opportunity to share experiences, receive information and advice from healthcare professionals and to meet others in a similar situation.

Yorkshire Brain Tumour Charity

Charity providing support and information to people living with brain tumours including befriending, bereavement support, cancer information materials, counselling. Further support is offered through its online and in person meet ups, and monthly drop in cafés.

Maggies - Leeds

Located on the grounds of St James’s Hospital, close to the Bexley Centre, you will find Maggie’s. The Maggie’s centre i is a space for being together or for a moment alone, for getting going again or for meeting people who just get it.

All their cancer support specialists have expert knowledge about cancer and treatment, and many are NHS-trained.
