Rheumatology
Rheumatology is a branch of medicine that deals with a wide range of conditions that affect bones, joints, soft- tissues and organs in the human body. Some conditions are known as auto-immune conditions which cause the body to produce inflammation in the tissues that they affect. There are many different types of condition but the more common ones are Rheumatoid Arthritis which affect multiple joints and Ankylosing Spondylitis which affects the spine. There are also many conditions that are not auto- immune such as osteoporosis, fibromyalgia which are acquired due to other reasons such as age- related changes, hereditary factors, life- style, environment.
