Women's Health

The women’s health physiotherapy team consists of specialist physiotherapists who have undergone postgraduate training in order to support women with a variety of pregnancy related and pelvic floor muscle disorders. Based at Brighouse Health Centre, we offer telephone or face to face appointments. We work closely with the consultants and specialist nurses as part of the integrated Pelvic Floor Multidisciplinary Team.

Many pelvic floor muscle and pregnancy related problems respond well to simple advice, education, exercise and self-management. You can follow the links below for further information on how to manage some of these problems. If your symptoms do not improve then you may need to contact your GP or midwife to request a referral to the Women’s Health Physiotherapy Service.

Below are the links to information, leaflets, videos and other resources on common pregnancy related and gynaecological musculoskeletal problems that you may find useful.
