Calderdale & Kirklees Research Hub

A collaboration focused on delivering health and care research in the Calderdale and Kirklees District, working to support and improve the health and wellbeing of local people. 

Our Vision

Through making research everyone’s business, we seek to improve the health, wellbeing and care of our population, and create a cohesive place-based research system where partners collaborate to maximise research opportunities and enhance research delivery.

Role of the Calderdale and Kirklees Research Collaborative Steering Group

The Steering Group will regularly review the priorities and performance of the Hub. It will serve as a focal point for liaison between collaborating organisations involved in Health and Social Care research in the Calderdale and Kirklees area.

Aims of the Calderdale and Kirklees Research Collaborative

• To enable fast and efficient communication between collaborators

• To facilitate mutual understanding amongst collaborators of each other’s research priorities.

• To ensure appropriate linkage into strategic partners for our collaborators

• To develop and implement reporting mechanisms in order to capture in full the activity of the Research Collaborative

• To provide effective and timely feedback to research participants and their communities on research activity in Calderdale and Kirklees

• To building trusting relationships between collaborating organisations, HEIs and the public, to enable high quality research to be developed

• To work with academic and other research partners to define research goals, design studies and attract funding.

• To develop links with groups and organisations beyond the Research Collaborative membership with a stake in research activity in Calderdale and Kirklees

• To develop, deliver and promote research training for our staff and community collaborators

• To facilitate and encourage Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement in our research activities

Accountable to

The Steering Group will be accountable to the Calderdale and Kirklees Place-based Partnership Boards for the area its members cover, and to the Yorkshire and Humber Research Delivery Network.
