Fantastic patient feedback for CRH Elective Orthopaedic Ward

Left to right Christine and Adele

Last month a patient who had been on the Orthopaedic Ward at CRH, shared his feedback about the fantastic care he received there.

He sent an email to Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Christine Stott, Staff Nurse, Tiffany White, and Sister, Adele Lee. Ward Manager, Linda Denham was so proud she sent it on to our Chief Executive, Rob Aitchison and added her own praise, saying:“It completely shows One Culture of Care across the ward and our Trust, that we aim to deliver to our patients."

Here’s the patient's email in full:

"I want to express my gratitude to all three of you.

"Christine, when you came to visit me on the morning after my operation, you listened, without prejudice or judgment, to my history and my concerns regarding pain levels/relief. You then immediately rectified the situation, and I slept like a baby that night. Thank you so, so much for your kindness and compassion.

"Tiffany, your unwavering support and motivation allowed me to look ahead and believe that things would get better - they have and continue to do so. I really enjoyed our chats, and you made me laugh whenever you came to see me. I can honestly say that at no point did I feel judged or treated differently. You and your colleagues treated me with dignity and respect, and I shall remember that forever.

"Adele, seeing your face in the morning made my stay in hospital a lot easier than it might have been. Night time scares me when I'm in hospital and I'm so glad that you were one of the first people I saw in the morning. Your humour, understanding and words of wisdom helped me more than you will ever know.

"So, I shall end my email with this. Never, ever underestimate the positive effect you have on people in your care. I have nothing but admiration and respect for you and the job you do, often in difficult circumstances I'm sure. I wish you all the very best and hope that you find down-time to relax and recharge. CHFT is very lucky to have you.

"Thank you."
