Three of our colleagues took centre stage last week to close the Department of Health and Social Care's (DHSC) Christmas Advent Change NHS social media campaign

Matron for Patient Experience Alex Keaskin, Volunteer Alison Cottam and Porter Kevin Salmon were recruited to help DHSC spread the word about the national consultation, which encourages everyone to have their say about the future of the health service.

The campaign comprised 24 video clips of people explaining what the NHS means to them, in the run-up to Christmas Day.

On Christmas Eve our trio were in esteemed company, as some familiar faces that also took part in the social media campaign included Health Secretary Wes Streeting, Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves, Chief Executive of the NHS Amanda Pritchard, Professor Lord Darzi, broadcaster Angela Rippon and comedian and former NHS doctor, Adam Kay.

Wes Streeting even shared the video of Kevin, Alex and Alison on his social media accounts.

Alex said: "I was pleased to lend my voice to help promote the national Change NHS consultation. It's so important that we all share our views to help shape the future of our beloved NHS - not only as members of staff, but as members of the public, too."

You can have your say until early 2025 on the Change NHS website.
