Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust has submitted plans to Kirklees Council requesting planning permission to build a new Accident and Emergency (A&E) building at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

The modern building will be sited on the hospital’s South Drive off Acre Street and will provide 24/7 emergency care with its own parking area. It is hoped that subject to planning approval building work can start later this year.

Philip Lewer, Trust Chair  said: “This is very much an ongoing journey to ensure that Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and its partners can provide the best hospital and community healthcare for patients and families for future generations.”
