Musculoskeletal information

We are a team of highly specialist community physiotherapists with knowledge of how children’s bodies grow and develop. This allows us to assess and treat children with musculoskeletal conditions and our service is for children up to the age of 13.

What we treat:

  • Back and neck problems (such as posture, torticollis)
  • Upper limb problems
  • Hip problems (such as Perthes)
  • Foot and ankle problems (such as talipes, severs and toe walking)
  • Knee pain (such as Osgood Schlatters, anterior knee pain)
  • Sports injuries
  • Rheumatology conditions (such as Juvenile Idiopathic arthritis)
  • Orthopaedic conditions

You will be assessed and given specific advice to manage your condition which may include active exercises, graded return to sports, stretches, postural re-education, hydrotherapy and Pilates. We aim to work with you to support a return to the activities that the young person enjoys.
