Getting ready for baby's arrival

You may be thinking already about the kind of birth you want and you may be a little nervous about it, especially if this is your first baby. Some people want to join every available childbirth class whilst others prefer to go with the flow. However you want to do it is ok with us, as our midwives and doctors will keep you informed and involved in the decisions about your care throughout your journey.

You may have found that your friends and family like to tell you their birth stories especially if they were eventful. Or you may have had a previous birth which didn’t go according to plan. It’s important to remember that each pregnancy, and all births are different. What matters is that you keep an open mind, consider your birth choices and find out what you need to know before the big day.

Positive birth stories

Many parents who have had their babies with us choose to share their birth stories on our facebook page. If you want to find out more about the birth experiences of other parents, pick up some tips, and see lots of gorgeous baby photos, do like and follow us on facebook Better Births at Calderdale and Huddersfield www.facebook.com/betterbirthsCHFT/

We add hashtags # to our posts, so use the search facility to find out more about #InductionOfLabour #Hypnobirth #CSection #BirthCentre #Ward4 #LabourWard etc

Our staff love reading the #thankyou posts and hearing an update once baby has gone home. It’s a lovely way to celebrate a birth and support other parents-to-be. You can also find birth stories on the following websites:
