In November 2019 we launched our Macmillan Health Walk in partnership with Kirklees Council and the Ramblers Association.
Three of our wonderful Macmillan volunteers, Shaz, Trish and Margaret, trained as walk leaders with Kirklees Council and now run the monthly walks around Greenhead Park.
A gentle walk of around 45 minutes around the park starts at 1pm, followed by an optional coffee and piece of cake in the café afterwards.
Physical activity is extremely important for people affected by cancer, and walking is an ideal gentle activity to raise the heart rate and get some fresh air. The social part of the group is also extremely important, with the chance for attendees to meet other people in a similar situation and chat to our Macmillan volunteers for support too.
The first Thursday of the month meeting at 12.45pm.
Greenhead Park, Trinity Street, Huddersfield, HD1 4DT - in or outside the conservatory.
For any information, please contact Helen or Mandy at the Macmillan Information Service on 01484 343614 or 01422 222709.
