Important information for visitors
Visiting guidelines
- Our recommended visiting times are between 10am and 8pm.
- Two visitors per bed are allowed at any one time. If you wish for more than two people to visit, please speak to the nurse in charge.
- Please be aware that patient care is our priority, so our staff may ask you to leave for a short period while they provide medical, nursing, or therapy care.
- Planned and emergency surgery is performed daily. Please be mindful that patients need time to rest and recover, and we ask that you respect this during your visit.
- Children are welcome to visit, but we ask that you remain responsible for them for their safety and the safety of our patients and staff.
Within our hospitals we welcome carers outside of usual visiting times and they have the right to stay throughout the day or night on our wards. Read more in on our Supporting Unpaid Carers page.
Discharge planning
You will be given an estimated date of discharge when you are admitted. This will be reviewed by staff daily and discussed with you. If you have any concerns regarding your discharge please speak to a member of staff. It is also important to discuss your discharge from hospital with your family and/or friends and inform them of your estimated date of discharge. Some patients may be discharged to their own homes with assistance from community teams.
