Bariatric Surgery Pathway Information
Endoscopy
As part of your Bariatric Surgery Workup, you will be required to have a Gastroscopy to assess your Upper Gastrointestinal tract. If you take a PPI medication such as Omeprazole or Lansoprazole, you will need to stop this for 2 weeks before your appointment.
When you have been given your Bariatric Dietitian appointment, please complete the below Food and Mood Diary. Just click on the 'Food and Mood Diary' title to open the food diary. Don’t forget to put your name and date of birth at the top of the form.
Be honest with your diet recall so we can help you and remember that we are not here to judge!!
Support Group Dates 2026
As part of the pathway towards bariatric surgery it is necessary to attend one of the following support groups which are held for patients who are thinking about surgery or have already had bariatric surgery. You will need to attend a support group before we will request your investigations/appointments. Once you have attended a support group we will then request your work up tests/appointments.
In order to attend one of the support groups please contact Sarah Richards Bariatric Coordinator who will arrange an appointment for the meeting of your choice.
