Children's Diabetes Services

What we do: 

The Children's Diabetes Nursing Team offers nursing care, support and advice to children and young people who have been diagnosed with Diabetes. 

The teams work includes support on local children's wards, home and school visits, clinics both face to face and virtual, phone and email support. The team work as an integrated team with a Specialist Paediatric Diabetes Dietician, Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurses, Advocates, Consultant Paediatricians and a Clinical Psychologist, covering both Calderdale and Huddersfield. 

Our Clinics:

The Children's Diabetes team hold clinics in both Calderdale and Huddersfield where patients are initially seen in a dedicated new patient clinic. There are also follow up clinics, nurse led clinics and transition clinics held regularly for individuals from the age of 16 years upwards. These are held together with the adult diabetes team. At each clinic, there are regular dietetic sessions.
