Important information during essential work in our car parks at CRH

From Monday, 26th January 2026, we started  essential work in our car parks at Calderdale Royal Hospital to get ready for the construction of our new hospital building later in the year.

If you are coming to our hospital, please follow the information on site for directions, as some parking spaces will be unavailable. Pedestrian routes around the hospital will be open.

All our services at Calderdale Royal Hospital will continue to run as usual throughout the work.

Please park in marked bays only to allow emergency services to get through quickly.

There is also on-street parking available on the surrounding roads (excluding resident parking zones).

Thank you for your patience during these works which will bring essential services such as power and water on site. The work is expected to complete by early autumn 2026.

Car parking charges

  • The first 30 minutes are free to allow drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Up to 2 hours: £3.50
  • Between 2 and 4 hours: £5.50
  • Between 4 and 6 hours: £7.00
  • More than 6 hours: £9.00

In our car parks that have a barrier on entry, we operate a pay-on-foot system. Please take your ticket to a pay station before returning to your car and exiting the car park. There are pay stations located in each of the public car parks or in the main entrances of the hospital.

The pay stations take coins and notes and give change.

We have a small number of pay and display parking spaces near the emergency department at Calderdale Royal. The same charges apply but you will need to buy a ticket as soon as you park up and display this in the windscreen. These car parking areas do not have a barrier. These machines do not accept notes or give change.

Weekly car parking pass

You can buy a weekly pass for £35. These are available from our General Offices at HRI and CRH (during office hours).

If you park with us out of hours you can put the cost of your ticket towards a weekly pass by purchasing a weekly pass the next working day. To do this, pay for your parking as normal and keep your receipt. Bring the receipts to the General Office the next working day when we will put the amount you have paid towards the cost of the weekly pass.
