Wrist and Hand Pain

There are two common conditions that can develop during pregnancy or after birth. There is information on each of these below.

Carpal tunnel syndrome: is a painful hand and arm condition caused by compression of a nerve in your wrist. Pregnancy can make you more prone to carpal tunnel syndrome because of the extra fluid you retain can put pressure on that nerve.

De Quervain’s syndrome: is an inflammation of the sheath or tunnel that surrounds two tendons that control the movement of the thumb. Click on the link below for more information and advice.
