Elections to the Council of Governors 2026
Governor Elections 2026
Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust’s Council of Governors (CoG) is made up of elected members of the public, staff and representatives from partner organisations.
The CoG forms a direct link between the Trust and the communities it serves and ensures that the voices of the public, patients, service users and staff are used to inform the Trust’s decisions, improve care and enhance the patient experience.
CHFT is inviting nominations for elections to its CoG in the public constituencies below. Details of the number of vacancies and the Trust's activity can be found below.
To protect the independence and non-political role of the Public Governor role, candidates must be independent of local political office, ie not be standing for election as a governor whilst also standing in a local authority election.
| Current Public Governor Vacancies | Seats |
| North & Central Halifax | 1 |
| East Halifax & Bradford | 1 |
| Skircoat & Lower Calder Valley | 1 |
| Lindley and the Valleys | 1 |
Nominations will open at 09:00 am on Tuesday 28 April 2026. The closing date for nominations is 17:00 on Friday 15 May 2026.
