Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) Careers Event

    HCSW Role Requirements

    • English and Math GCSE grade 9-2 (A*-E) or equivalent
    • Competence based level 2 Qualification e.g. NVQ or Diploma in Care
      • or 
        • Care Certificate Standard – demonstrating the 15/16 standard have been meet and signed by an employer.
        • Access to Higher Education (Nursing) – EQ. to Level 4 Qualification + 12 months experience in one of the follow; hospital, nursing home, domiciliary, residential homes or supported living
        • Access to Higher Education (Health and Social Care) – EQ. to level 4 Qualification + 12 months experience in one of the follow; hospital, nursing home, domiciliary, residential homes or supported living
        • Heath and Social Care Diploma completed at college + 12 months experience in one of the follow; hospital, nursing home, domiciliary, residential homes or supported living
        • BTEC Level 2 Minimum in Health and Social Care + 12 months experience in one of the follow; hospital, nursing home, domiciliary, residential homes or supported living
        • Second or Third Year student nurse on a undergraduate Adult's Nursing course
        • Second or Third Year student nurse on a undergraduate Children's Nursing course

    If you're interested in starting a career with CHFT, this event is a great opportunity to learn more and take your first steps.

    • Meet the Teams: You’ll be able to meet CHFT staff, including team leaders and departments that are currently hiring.
    • Get Recruitment Advice: There will be helpful information about how the CHFT recruitment process works, along with tips and support to help you write a strong job application.
    • On-the-Day Interviews: If you register in advance and meet the requirements for a role, you may be offered an interview at the event. Interview times will be arranged ahead of time where possible.
    • Interview Format: The interview will have two parts:
      1. A formal interview with a panel who will ask you some questions.
      2. A short scenario-based exercise to see how you might handle a real-life situation at work.
    • Interview outcomes: Please note offers will not be made on the day.  
    • What Will Happens Next: You’ll receive an email with your interview outcome within 5 working days of the event. This will come from: ask.recruitment@cht.nhs.uk.  Where an offer is to be made, you will be asked to complete an application form and then formally receive a conditional offer of employment.   For those unsuccessful, we hope the advice from recruitment will help you in the future.  
    • Pre Registration: for an interview at the event, pre registration is required.  The closing date for this is Sunday 16 November.
